OVERVIEW

DETAIL ITINERARY
Pick up at the hotel in Hue City, head north on Highway One toward Dong Ha Town, stop on the way to visit Quang Tri City, the Ai Tu Airfield, and the Lew Puller School.
Continue onto Dong Ha Town, the former headquaters of the 9th Marine, head west on Route 9. The first stop is Camp Carroll, the Marine artillery plateau. Have a brief stop at the Rockpile. We will visit Khe Sanh Combat Base.
Enjoy lunch and rest. We then head toward the Laotian border to the Lang Vei Special Forces Camp, overrun in the first ever NVA tank assault. Co Roc Mountain soars to the heavens just across the border.
Day 2: Khe Sanh - Hue ( B,L )
Drive back to Dong Ha Town. Explore Leatherneck Square, including Cam Lo Bridge, Con Thien (the Hill of Angels), Gio Linh FSB Forward (Alpha 2).
Have lunch in Dong Ha. We then head North to visit the Peace Bridge over the Ben Hai river at the middle of the Demilitarized Zone, the river that was the only true physical demarcation between North and South Vietnam .
We will visit Vinh Moc tunnels, the refuge of over 400 people during the bombing operation “ Rolling Thunder “. Return to Hue City and end of the trip.
