Only nearly three weeks before Lunar New Year Festival (Tet), but Tet atmosphere has been overwhelming in Nhat Tan flower village. A travel for pleasure to the flower village will bring tourists interesting experiences with a Tet flavour in Thang Long – Hanoi.
Nhat Tan village on the edge of Hanoi’s West Lake is blooming with a variety of flowers, but especially peach flowers. Nhat Tan peach garden on the coming day of Lunar Tet is taken care very carefully by flower growers. Somewhere in the middle of the flower garden there are full colour of peach flowers , some youths are playing and taking pictures.
Nhat Tan flower village is 7km northwest from the centre of Hanoi and is famous for its peaches and grows many different kinds with each offering their own distinct beauty.
Nhat Tan peach is a flower that is integral to the Tet traditions of Vietnamese people. Around Lunar December 20 of each year, Nhat Tan villagers usually cut a peach branch to sell at Ngu Xa, Hang Luoc, Quang Ba flower markets for people to show at Tet.
This year, the price of each peach branch is about several tens of thousands VND to several hundred thousand VND. The price of a foot of peach tree is approximately 1 million and above.
