The northern province of Phu Tho
last week launched its tourism website at http://dulich.phutho.gov.vn
and decided to establish a tourism information and promotion centre.
Phu Tho is
considered the cradle of Vietnamese civilisation and has many famous
relic sites such as the Hung Kings Temple in Phong Chau District and
Mother Au Co Temple in Ha Hoa District. The former is dedicated to the
18 Hung Kings, the mythical founders of Van Lang, the fist state in
Vietnamese history.
The province also
has many attractive sites like the Xuan Son National Park in Thanh Son
District, Ao Chau Lagoon with its hundreds of large and small islets in
Ha Hoa District, and Thanh Thuy hot spring in Thanh Thuy District.
The province has
given rise to many famous festivals such as the Hung Kings Temple
Festival to mark their death anniversary in the third lunar month every
year, which recently became a national holiday.
