earliest structures of the temple complex date back to the 4th century. Like so
much in Vietnam, the site was extensively damaged due to carpet bombings by the
American. Over time, the My Son Sanctuary has remained a mysterious appearance.
Hindu gods still quietly occupy elaborately carved stone niches in the temples
that survived.
