Ha Giang - A Wonderland

Located at 1.000m above sea level, Ho Thau commune in the northern mountains, belongs to Ha Giang Province where the weather is often cool all year round and breathtaking landscapes, always the favorite place for domestic and foreign visitors.
Owning thousands of hectares of terraced rice fields and topped with the "grey hat" of Chieu Lau Thi Peak, is considered the capital of the Red Dao ethnic group, with the numbers about 450.000 people in Vietnam alone. Besides, the poetic Chay River runs like a giant snake through the mountains and forests making the nature harmonious. It can be said that Ho Thau is truly an interesting destination in NorthernVietnam where you will not only have chance to experience and discover the unique culture of the ethnic minority and the marvelous scenery, but also which will help you to re-connecting with family, nature and yourself.
Coming to Ha Giang Province in general and Ho Thau in particular, you will be immersed in the surrounding great scenery, with mountains after mountains stretching forever, huge rocky hills with red moss that glowed in the sunlight - and wild orchids in many colours. Higher up the mountains were pine forests like those in Europe. Streams trickled and gushed down the hillsides. Birds sung in the trees.
This is also a great spot where you will have opportunity to visit 100-year-old tea trees with moss all over their trunks. That was Shan Tuyet tea that grows at a height of more than 2,000m above the sea level. The tea leaves get wind and fog for four seasons, sprouting valuable leaves used for people’s health.
The winter and the spring are always a better time to visit and discover Ha Giang Province. In summer, the clouds are more beautiful in the afternoon. Winter offers nice views of maple forests, while summer has do quyen Rhododendron flowers in full bloom. In May and June, locals water their terrace rice fields while in autumn, September and October, they harvest their crops.
For many other popular destinations in Vietnam, maybe Ha Giang is still a less-known place, but it is an extremely impressive place which promises to give you an amazing trip. Coming here, you can admire the locals who have toiled hard to make a living from this land and you will feel you are so small in front of Mother Nature herself.
